The U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA) awarded a $300,000 Project Grant to the County of Fresno, California on June 27, 2023 under the EDA's Economic Adjustment Assistance (CFDA 11.307) program. This grant will support the update and continued implementation of a Countywide Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for Fresno County. The CEDS process will bring together public and private sector stakeholders to develop an economic development roadmap that diversifies and strengthens the regional economy, expands economic opportunities, and creates high-wage jobs for residents. Key focus areas include urban planning, downtown revitalization, business retention, workforce development, broadband expansion, and economic diversification. The updated CEDS will guide county and partner city officials, community stakeholders, private industry, and public investment toward building a resilient, inclusive, and equitable regional economy. The project is scheduled for completion by September 30, 2024.
