The Economic Development Administration awarded a $2.586 million Project Grant to the Board of Regents of Nevada System of Higher Education, doing business as the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, to develop a program facilitating economic recovery, resilience, and diversification in the regional tourism industry through September 2024. As part of the Economic Adjustment Assistance program, which provides technical, planning, and infrastructure assistance to regions experiencing adverse economic changes, the University will prepare resiliency plans, operate business and workforce capacity building education and training programs, and perform tourism diversification planning. The program aims to encourage new business opportunities and improve Clark County's attractiveness as a destination to increase employment, spur private investment, and advance regional economic resiliency following adverse impacts on the tourism sector.
