This $17.8 million Project Grant from the Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration supports the Global Epicenter of Mobility coalition led by the Detroit Regional Partnership Foundation. The coalition aims to transform Detroit's legacy automotive industry into a highly competitive advanced mobility cluster. Funding will support the new Supply Chain Transformation Center which will provide assistance to existing manufacturers transitioning to broader mobility products. Additionally, funding will support the Mobility Accelerator Innovation Network to identify and support startups in the mobility space. Wayne State University Research & Technology Park in Detroit, operating as Techtown Detroit, serves as the sub-awardee to deliver these services under the Economic Adjustment Assistance program. This program provides technical, planning, and infrastructure assistance to regions experiencing adverse economic changes.
