The Maryland Department of Health's Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) received a $2,621,050.00 Formula Grant award from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) under the Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) program (CFDA 93.150). This grant will fund the delivery of comprehensive services for individuals in Maryland experiencing serious mental illness, co-occurring substance abuse disorders, and homelessness or risk of homelessness. The funded services include outreach, screening, diagnostic treatment, rehabilitation, community mental health services, substance abuse treatment, case management, residential supportive services, and housing assistance. The grant award period runs from September 1, 2024 through August 31, 2026. The BHA, as the state government agency responsible for mental health and substance use disorder services, will sub-award portions of the funding to local non-profit organizations, community mental health centers, housing authorities, and other service providers to ensure these critical services are available throughout Maryland.
