The Hawaii State Department of Education received a $4.83 million formula grant award from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Elementary and Secondary Education under the Student Support and Academic Enrichment Program (CFDA 84.424). The three-year award, which runs from September 2022 through September 2025, will support the Stronger Connections Grant Program.
The Student Support and Academic Enrichment Program aims to improve student academic achievement by increasing state and local capacity to provide well-rounded educational opportunities, improve school conditions, and support safe and healthy students. Specifically, the Stronger Connections Grant Program will work to achieve these goals in Hawaii by delivering services focused on connecting students to academic and enrichment resources in their communities. The funding will be used to increase access to a well-rounded education for all Hawaii students through September 2025.
