The North Dakota Department of Public Instruction has been awarded a $610,995 Formula Grant from the U.S. Department of Education Office of Elementary and Secondary Education under the English Language Acquisition State Grants program (CFDA 84.365). This funding will be used to help ensure that English learners, including immigrant children and youth, attain English proficiency and meet challenging state academic standards. The North Dakota Department of Public Instruction will administer and distribute these grant funds as subawards to various local education agencies across the state, including school districts in Fargo, Minot, Grand Forks, Grafton, Belfield, Williston, McKenzie County, and West Fargo. These subawards will support English language instruction, tutoring, counseling, professional development, culturally relevant curriculum, school meals programs, and other initiatives to assist English learners in North Dakota in achieving academic success.
