The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde (CTGR) received a $105,129 Formula Grant from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) under the Formula Grants for Rural Areas and Tribal Transit Program (CFDA 20.509). The purpose of this award is to continue existing transit services for the Grand Ronde community and surrounding areas.
CTGR will use the funds to pay Tillamook County Transportation District and Yamhill County Transit, with which the tribe has intergovernmental agreements, to provide transit vehicles, drivers, and administrative support. This will allow Tillamook County to continue operating three transit routes in and out of Grand Ronde, including the 60X Coastal Connector to Lincoln City, the 60X route to Salem, and the 70X Grand Ronde Express to Salem. Yamhill County Transit will also operate Route 22 from Grand Ronde to McMinnville. The expected outcomes are the continuation of these important transit services for elders, youth, families with limited vehicle access, and other community members in the Grand Ronde region.
