The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) received a $12,430,167 Federal Transit Formula Grant (CFDA 20.507) from the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Transit Administration. This award will fund a variety of operating and capital projects in New Castle County, Delaware, including the Claymont Regional Transportation Center construction, Mid County Driver Training Facility planning and engineering, preventive maintenance for the Wilmington transit system, expansion of the Mid County Maintenance Facility, Job Access Reverse Commute services, improvements to bus stops and shelters, and planning and engineering for the Beech Street Maintenance Building and Churchmans Crossing Fairplay Station parking expansion and replacement. The grant will enable DelDOT to continue providing clean, safe, and reliable public transportation, while improving mobility and access across the region. The award period extends from June 2, 2025 to February 28, 2027.
