The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection will receive $14,352,000 under a Formula Grant from the Environmental Protection Agency's Drinking Water State Revolving Fund program. The funding will capitalize New Jersey's Drinking Water State Revolving Fund from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2029. Most funds will be provided as loans to public water systems for eligible drinking water infrastructure projects, including treatment improvements, water distribution system repairs, source upgrades, and storage tank construction or replacement. Some funding may support administrative and technical assistance activities. Subawards in the form of loans under the program are expected to increase water systems' technical, financial, and managerial capacity and ensure a safer drinking water supply statewide by financing multiple projects.
