The State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services was awarded a $1.2 million Formula Grant from the US Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service to support the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) from May 2023 through September 2025. As the prime recipient, State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services will deliver supplemental nutritious foods, nutrition education, and referrals to health and social services to low-income pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants, and children up to age five who are determined to be at nutritional risk. The WIC program aims to address the nutritional needs of this vulnerable population. Sub-awards may be provided to county governments, non-profits, tribal entities, and health centers to help statewide delivery of these services.
