The Department of Health and Human Services Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services awarded $4.51 million to the Hawaii Attorney General's Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division under the State Medicaid Fraud Control Units federal grant program (CFDA #93.775) for the period of October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2022.
Through this formula grant funding, the Hawaii Attorney General's office will investigate and prosecute Medicaid provider fraud as well as patient abuse or neglect in health facilities, board and care facilities, and among Medicaid beneficiaries in non-institutional or other settings.
