The Department of Agriculture National Institute of Food and Agriculture awarded a $104,250 Formula Grant under the Veterinary Medicine Loan Repayment Program to provide veterinary services in designated shortage situations from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2026. The Veterinary Medicine Loan Repayment Program (CFDA 10.313) responds to the shortage of large animal veterinarians in rural areas by offering student loan repayment to veterinarians who commit to practicing in shortage situations for three years. Under this award, qualified veterinarians will receive loan repayment in exchange for fulfilling a service obligation to provide professional veterinary services focused on food supply in high priority shortage areas throughout the U.S. and its insular areas from 2024 through 2026.
