The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA) a $103,697,000 Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CFDA 66.458) formula grant to capitalize the state's CWSRF program. The grant, funded through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), will enable IEPA to provide low-interest loans to multiple sub-recipients for planning, designing, and constructing eligible water quality improvement and protection projects across the state. Of the total award, IEPA will use $90,499,200 for direct lending and $3,770,800 for program administration. The grant is expected to establish and maintain an effective, self-sustaining CWSRF to improve and protect water quality and public health for citizens throughout Illinois. The award period is from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2027.
