The Environmental Protection Agency Region 10 awarded the State of Idaho Department of Environmental Quality a $6.8 million Formula Grant under the Clean Water State Revolving Fund program (CFDA #66.458) from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2027. The purpose of this grant is to capitalize Idaho's Clean Water State Revolving Fund, which provides low-interest financing to subrecipients for costs associated with planning, designing, and constructing eligible water quality improvement and protection projects. Two subawards were provided to support wastewater infrastructure projects. The City of Craigmont received funding to install new headworks, perform biosolids removal, rehabilitate lagoons, add new ammonia removal and disinfection systems, and conduct infiltration/inflow corrections and collection work. The City of Nampa received increased funding to construct tertiary filtration, UV disinfection, a fourth aeration basin and clarifier, and make other treatment system improvements to meet Class A requirements and ensure effluent temperature compliance. The overall goal is to establish and manage an effective comprehensive Clean Water State Revolving Fund program and maintain a self-sustaining revolving fund to improve and protect water quality and public health statewide.
