The International Rescue Committee, Inc. was awarded a $394,738 cooperative agreement by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Population Refugees and Migration to augment existing capacity to accept affidavits of relationship (AORs) and other supporting documentation for applications to the Central American Minors (CAM) program.

Under this agreement, the International Rescue Committee will support the objectives of the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) by expanding its ability to collect AORs and associated documentation to help qualify more minors in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras for refugee resettlement in the United States under the CAM program. The CAM program facilitates the legal migration of certain children and their parents in dangerous Central American countries.

The one-year cooperative agreement term is from September 15, 2022 to September 14, 2023 and will allow the International Rescue Committee to better assist vulnerable populations through expanded documentation collection for the CAM program as part of the USRAP's initial reception and placement services for refugees approved for admission to the United States.
