The Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) awarded a $259,701 cooperative agreement to Clemson University under the Plant and Animal Disease, Pest Control, and Animal Care federal grant program (CFDA 10.025) from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022.
Under this cooperative agreement, Clemson University will provide animal health national surveillance and response activities for avian, equine, cervid, small ruminant, and swine species as well as zoonotic diseases. As part of APHIS's mission to protect U.S. agriculture from economically injurious plant and animal diseases and pests, this award will support Clemson University's work to monitor and respond to diseases affecting important livestock populations and threats of zoonotic transmission.
