The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded a $512,500 Cooperative Agreement to the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission under the Regional Wetland Program Development Grants (CFDA 66.461) program. This project aims to inform and connect people to Nebraska's wetland resources and the important services they provide, in order to continue developing the state's wetland program.
The key activities include creating three new 8-10 minute educational videos on topics such as cultural connections to wetlands, wetlands and water quality, and wetland research methods, designed for students in grades 6-12. These videos will incorporate climate change content and be made available on the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission's YouTube channel. The project will also provide educator professional development and on-the-ground wetland education programs. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is producing the educational videos as a sub-grantee under this award.
