The Ohio State University was awarded a $514,782.00 grant from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Shared Services Center to support the Next-Generation NASA Cold Lands Processes Experiment (NGCLPX) field activities in 2019-2021. The grant will fund the University's efforts to: 1) aid in planning and preparation for the NGCLPX field work, including contributing to the science and implementation plans; 2) utilize NGCLPX and previous SnowEx data to help define expected snow water equivalent (SWE) accuracy based on radar retrieval algorithms; and 3) construct an artificial neural network emulator of the computationally-intensive Bayesian Snow water equivalent Estimation (BASE) algorithm to illustrate its potential for future spaceborne applications. This grant does not have a set-aside designation.
