"1 Introduction This Statement of Work (SOW) outlines the requirements for Subcontractor to provide services to Alion Science and Technology ( Alion ) in support of the Air Force Research Laboratory s (AFRL) Information Directorate (AFRL/RI) Information Systems Division (AFRL/RIS) mission provides state-of-the-art, command, control, communications, computing, cyber, and intelligence technologies for the Air Force and joint warfighters to enhance the capability to successfully meet the challenges of the information age. Background The primary purpose of this TAT is to study, analyze, provide advice, research, and develop deliverables to advance Cyber Security related scientific and technical information (STI) through the application of knowledge and resources in achieving the requiring activity's mission requirements. The objective of this Cyber Security & Information Systems (CS) TAT is to provide AFRL/RIS with Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT & E) in the technical areas of software and data analysis, information assurance, knowledge management and sharing, and modeling and simulation. Deliverables produced in the accomplishment of this TAT shall contribute significantly to the available STI in these technical areas. This TAT shall provide subject matter expertise in cybersecurity, information assurance, software engineering, modeling and simulation, and knowledge management and information sharing to incorporate advanced technologies and capabilities into new and legacy systems, subsystems and components. The Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) shall enhance the performance of legacy systems through technology insertion and rapid prototyping of the resulting modified systems. Among AFRL s partners in the war on terror is US Cyber Command (CYBERCOM) whose focus is to identify and eliminate terror cells worldwide; develop and deliver capabilities to DoD components through rapid research and development, advanced studies and technical innovation. Their mission overlaps with AFRL s R & D activities-- to rapidly disseminate information using cutting-edge assets to achieve secure, assured and persistent communications. 2 Scope Due to current and future requirements, the USCYBERCOM J39 requires additional personnel, logistical, financial, and technical support for its government staff functions that enable USCYBERCOM operations. This task will provide staff support in the areas of operations, risk management, training, and technical/strategic advice.
