Intelligent Optical Systems, Inc. has a history of delivering...
This is a Definitive Contract awarded to Intelligent Optical Systems, Inc. (IOS), a small business manufacturer of goods and developer of optical sensing and instrumentation technologies, by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Shared Services Center. The $139,983.28 contract continues research and development initiated under a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I effort to create a reversible sensor for monitoring silver ions in spacecraft water systems. During the prior SBIR Phase I, IOS demonstrated a phase-resolved luminescent silver monitor that relied on a chelation agent to enable sensor reversibility, but this approach was not feasible for continuous measurement. IOS has since identified alternative strategies compatible with the phase-resolved luminescence technology that aim to eliminate the need for a chelation step. This contract represents the first step in determining the feasibility of these proposed sensor approaches. As a small business, the contract was set aside for the Small Business program.
